Winter has made it's entrance and the last thing on people's mind are growing things. But this is still a prime opportunity to collect seeds for next year. This is an opportunity to find plants to grow for the coming winter. Some plants have very attractive seed heads that look attractive in the yard or in the home. Wreaths and plant arrangements to name a few.
There are seeds hanging off my cherry tree that have been picked and I will plant them next year to grow for friends and family. I've collected seeds off of one bush that grows exceptionally well in our yard. Lingering plants in the garden still have seeds to give. There is nothing better than harvesting your own seeds for next years crop.
So on these last fairly warm and tolerable days of the year take the time out to gather seeds that are hanging on till the end. They deserve a chance to grow and become the full potential that they possess. And yes, it will save you money on seeds or plants that you would otherwise buy next year.
