There are so many people that believe hunting is cruel and sinful. But let's look at this for a minute. Try to get the image of Bambi out of your head and think about Wilbur for a minute. Deer, turkey, and any other animals hunted for food get to live a free life unbound by cages or fences. Roaming alone if they feel like it or staying in groups. Animals raised for food have no such luck. Overcrowding causes severe stress on any animal. Think how you would feel if you had to live, eat, sleep, and use the bathroom with 30 other people in space the size of your living room. Think how quickly the area would be fouled and nasty from feces. The smell would be horrible. You could never have any peace.
"The Union of Concerned Scientists estimates that at least 70 percent of the antibiotics used in America are fed to animals living on factory farms. Raising vast numbers of pigs or chickens or cattle in close and filthy confinement simply would not be possible without the routine feeding of antibiotics to keep the animals from dying of infectious diseases. That the antibiotics speed up the animals’ growth also commends their use to industrial agriculture, but the crucial fact is that without these pharmaceuticals, meat production practiced on the scale and with the intensity we practice it could not be sustained for months, let alone decades." -New York Times
To take a look at what you are eating when you buy meat from a store watch the video Meet Your Meat. Just be warned, it's graphic.
This is one of the reasons I believe in hunting. Not to mention, the meat is organic! (If the animals are around farmland there is the possibility of pesticide or herbicides if they eat from the farmers fields.) I truly believe that factory farming is 100% cruelty. You truly do not know what you are eating when you purchase meat from the store.
I've heard soooo many people say that wild meat taste strong or "gamey". To which I always reply, whoever cleaned the deer didn't do it right. Cooked on the grill venison (deer) is better than any restaurant steak I've ever had. Wild turkey is better than farm raised, as well as chickens any day. Once you've actually tasted the difference you can taste the chemicals and additives in store bought meat. I can't stand to eat beef anymore, it has a horrible after taste.
Along with the choice to hunt for your meat comes the responsibility to know what you are doing. Make sure you are an accurate shot so that you can end the animals life as painless as possible. Make sure you have a clear shot so that your arrow or bullet does not hit a tree branch and alter it's route. A good hunter can make end instantly. Something to think next time you look down on a hunter. It's a lot better than waiting on a conveyor belt till you throat is slit. That must be a horrifying experience for the animal.

I used to be an avid anti-hunting person. As I got older, and wiser, I realized that in all reality, you save money, you help the environment, and the meat from a fresh kill will feed your entire family for a full winter. Also, I have seen a few videos very similar to the one featured here, and they disgusted me the way these animals were treated (I will spare the details of the ones I saw) and I decided then and there if someone wants to go hunting and offer me tons of meat from their kill, I am more than willing to accept as much as will fit in my freezer. When cleaned, prepared, and cooked properly, the meat does tase much better than the meat from your local market. I myself, am not experienced enough to go hunting and kill on the first shot, therefore, I recruit people to do it for me. Some will do it b/c it is what they love to do, others require a small fee (if they don't have the equipment to clean it properly and have it taken somewhere. In the long run, the fee is still less than my family of 4 would spend on grocery store meat to last as long.
